İnsanoğlunun bir numaralı gündemi küresel dünya ölçeğinde çevre konusudur. Bu nedenle çevre eğitimi, eğitimin önemli bir parçasıdır. Toplumlar eğitimle şekillenip olumsuz davranışlarından uzaklaşıp olumlu davranışlara yönelecektir. Bu çalışmada ortaokul 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin çevresel sorumlu vatandaşlık düzeylerinin bazı değişkenler açısından incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Kayseri ili Kocasinan, Melikgazi ve Talas ilçelerinde öğrenim gören 1500 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada Özden (2011) tarafından geliştirilen kişisel bilgi formu ve çevresel sorumlu vatandaşlar davranış ölçeği (ÇSVDÖ) kullanılmıştır. Kişisel bilgi formu 10, çevresel sorumlu vatandaşlar ölçeği ise 27 maddeden oluşmaktadır. Uygulanan ölçeğin güvenirliği .903 olarak bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak ortaokul öğrencilerinin çevresel sorumlu vatandaş davranış düzeyleri üzerine sınıf düzeyi, cinsiyet, akademik başarı, baba eğitim düzeyi, çevre kuruluşu ve çevre kulüplerine üye olma, çevre ile ilgili etkinliklere katılma gibi değişenler açısından anlamlı fark olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
