Abstract:

This study discussed the relationship between professional love and happiness and the meaning of work. In addition, the role that the work takes on in this relationship is also subject to research. The study was conducted in two different time intervals with two different samples. According to this, the first sampling group consisted of 205 nurses working in private hospitals in the province of Antalya. The second sample group consisted of 293 nurses working in state-owned health institutions in Isparta. The process of adaptation to the Turkish culture of the Short Occupational Love Scale developed by Dik and his friends (2012) and the scale was found valid and reliable. In the study conducted with the second sample group, the first study used the Short Career Love Scale, developed by Abdel-Khalek (2006) and the Work Meaning Scale developed by Steger and his friends (2012). The data collected was analyzed using SPSS and AMOS programs through structural equality modeling. The results of the analysis are the positive and meaningful relationship between the existence of professional love, which is one of the dimensions of professional love, both happiness and the meaning of work, while the size of professional love search has not been identified a meaningful relationship with these variables. The study also found that in the impact of the size of the existence of professional love on happiness, the meaning of work takes the role of mediation. The extent of the search for love in the profession is among the findings that it does not play any role in this relationship. The findings were discussed in the summer and presented in recommendations.
