Bu araştırmanın amacı, mesleğinin ilk yılındaki ilköğretim matematik öğretmenleri ve son sınıf ilköğretim matematik öğretmen adaylarının öğrenci, matematik öğretim programı, matematik öğretmek ve öğretmenlik kavramlarına ilişkin algılarının metaforlar aracılığıyla belirlenmesidir. Araştırma, öğretmen adayı ve öğretmenlerin algılarının karşılaştırmalı olarak ortaya konması, lisans eğitim sürecinin işleyişine yönelik ipuçları vermesi ve mesleğin ilk yılındaki matematik öğretmenlerinin yaşadıkları zorlukların ortaya konması bakımından önem arz etmektedir. Araştırma olgu bilim deseninde tasarlanmıştır. Araştırma verileri, 2016-2017 eğitim öğretim yılı bahar döneminde 17 öğretmen adayı, 26 öğretmen olmak üzere toplam 43 katılımcıdan toplanmıştır. Katılımcıların seçiminde amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme kullanılmış olup veriler açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan bir form aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Veriler içerik analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. Öğretmenlerin ve öğretmen adaylarının ürettiği metaforların farklılık gösterdiği tespit edilmiş ve sonuçlar öğretmenlik lisans programları ile aday öğretmenlik sürecine ilişkin çıkarsamalar ışığında tartışılarak önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The research is designed in scientific patterns. Research data collected from a total of 43 participants, including 17 teachers candidates and 26 teachers, during the spring period of the 2016-2017 educational year. In the selection of participants, measurement sampling of the methods for the purpose of sampling was used and the data was collected through a form consisting of open-end questions. The data is analyzed by content analysis. The metaphors produced by teachers and teachers candidates have been identified and the results have been discussed in light of the results related to the teaching license programmes and the teaching process of candidates.
The aim of this research is to determine the metaphorical perceptions of elementary mathematics pre-service and in-service teachers about the concepts of teacher, student, teaching mathematics, and mathematics curriculum. The research is important in terms of comparing the perceptions of prospective teachers and teachers, giving clues about the functioning of undergraduate education, and revealing the difficulties experienced by mathematics teachers in the first year of the profession. The study is phenomenological research. The research data were collected from 43 participants including 17 teacher candidates and 26 teachers in 2016-2017 academic years. Purposeful sampling was used in the selection of participants for sampling and the data were collected through a form consisting of open-ended questions. In the analysis of the data, content analysis technique was used. It has been determined that the metaphors produced by teachers and prospective teachers are different and the results are discussed in the light of the inferences about the teacher education programs and the process of the teacher training system.
