Anievas ve Nişancıoğlu, bu kitaplarında kapitalizm tarihi literatürünün Avrupa-merkezci bakış açısına hapsolduğunu iddia etmektedirler. Eleştirel bir literatür taramasıyla bu sorunları gösterdikten sonra, çözümünün ise “Eşitsiz ve Bileşik Gelişim” teorisinde yattığını anlatırlar. Bu perspektiften yaklaşarak kitaplarında Avrupalı olmayanların failliğini Osmanlı, Moğollar, Atlantik’teki sömürgeler vb. örneklerden hareketle açıklarlar. Bu incelemede, kitabın kısa bir özeti ve daha sonra yazarın kitaba yönelik eleştirileri sunulmaktadır.
Anievas and Nişancıoğlu argue in these books that capitalism’s historical literature is imprisoned in a European-centric perspective. After they show these problems with a critical literature scan, they tell that the solution lies in the theory of "uneven and complex development". Approaching from this perspective, the activities of the non-European in their books are Ottoman, Mongols, colonies in the Atlantic, etc. Explain them with examples. This review provides a short summary of the book and then the author’s criticism of the book.
