The objective of this case study was to investigate the acute pressor response in an individual with 67 years, male, hypertensive, obese, and diabetic with coronary artery disease (CAD) in treatment submitted to two different types of aerobic exercise: continuous aerobic exercise (CAE) and aerobic interval exercise(AIE). The subject studied had undergone to four previous angioplasties with stenting, and presented atherosclerosis with partial obstruction of the carotid arteries without hemodynamic repercussion, detected by ultrasound. The individual was submitted to stress test that did not detect changes that suggested ischemia, and subsequently was scheduled two exercise sessions with the interval of 7 days. The blood pressure was obtained immediately and 10 minutes after the end of the exercise. After the two sessions we found that only the CAE had a hypotensive effect, sugesting that this kind of exercise was more effective for the patient studied.
