Abstract:

Although Turkey and Bulgaria were seen as two friendly countries during the Atatürk period, they followed a careful, attentive and distant diplomacy policy towards each other. Especially while Bulgaria followed a revisionist foreign policy after 1933, Turkey followed an anti-revisionist policy. Although during the World War II the two countries follow different policies, they did’nt show any hostile attitude towards each other. The Republic of Turkey has been active in protecting the social, cultural, economic and educational rights of the Turkish population in Bulgaria. Purpose of the study; during the period between 1939 and May 1945, when the political relations and communication between Turkey and Bulgaria were cut, and to reveal the contributions of the economic agreements they signed with each other to the economies of the countries. is to display; to be able to reveal the social and cultural life of the Bulgarian Turks, the difficulties they experienced and the attitudes of the two countries against mutual social events Study; the relations between the two countries in the social-cultural and economic fields are examined primarily in the Presidency İsmet İnönü Archive, Presidency Republic Archives, the official publications of the period, the Official Gazette, Ayın Tarihi, and the national newspapers Akşam, Cumhuriyet, Milliyet, Vakit, Vatan, Yeni Sabah, and books and articles describing the period.
