Bu çalışma İslamofobi kavramının sosyo-psikolojik analizini yapmayı ve İslamodium kavramının kullanımını yaygınlaştırmayı amaçlamaktadır. İslam nefretini tanımlamak için kullanılan İslamofobi, İslam’a ve Müslümanlara karşı olumsuz duygu ve düşünceler çağrıştırabilen, bu yüzden sorunlu olduğu düşünülen bir kavramdır. Bu kavram Müslümanlara karşı korku hissedilmesine neden olabilmektedir. Hissedilen korku duygusu ise düşmanlığa dönüştürülmektedir. Zira “kurtuluşa ermek” ve “barış yapmak” anlamına gelen “İslam” terimi, “fobi” denilen bir hastalıkla birlikte anılmaktadır. Ayrıca İslamofobi, Müslümanları tehdit eden katliamlarda özne görevi görebilmekte, maruz kalınan saldırılar medyada “İslamofobi saldırısı” şeklinde duyurulmaktadır. Bu sunumla, Müslümanlar korkulan pozisyonuna düşürülmekte ve yaşanan saldırılar meşrulaştırılmaktadır. Aslında bu kavram İslam dinine ve Müslümanlara karşı hissedilen korkuyu ifade etmek için kullanılabilir. Fakat saldırılara maruz kalan Müslümanların durumunu ve bu saldırıları tanımlamak için de kullanılması bir anlam karmaşasına yol açabilmektedir. Çok kültürlü yaşamın gereği olarak duyguların düşmanlığa dönüştürülmeden ifade edilebilmesi için kullanılabilecek bir kavrama ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Aynı zamanda hastalık çağrışımı yapmayacak bir kavram olmalıdır. Bu makalede sadece Müslümanlara karşı nefreti yansıtabilecek, İslam’ı ve Müslümanları korku unsurları şeklinde göstermeyecek İslamodium kavramının kullanılması önerilmektedir.
This study aims to make the socio-psychological analysis of the concept of Islamophobia and to spread the use of the concept of Islamodium. Islamophobia used to define Islam’s hatred is a concept that can call negative feelings and thoughts against Islam and Muslims, so it is considered problematic. This concept can cause Muslims to feel fear. The feeling of fear is transformed into hostility. The term "Islam" which means "to get to salvation" and "to make peace" is referred to with a disease called "phobia". Islamophobia, which is used to describe Islam hatred, is a concept that can evoke negative feelings and thoughts towards Islam and Muslims and therefore it is thought to be problematic. This concept may cause fear to being felt against Muslims. The sense of fear that is felt has been converted to hostility. Because the term "Islam", which means salvation and peace, is mentioned with a disease called "phobia". In addition, islamophobia can act as a subject in massacres threatening Muslims, and the exposed attack is announced as an “islamophobia attack” in the media. With this presentation, Muslims are brought into the feared position and the experiencing attacks are legitimized. In fact, this concept can be used to express the fear felt toward Islamic religion and Muslims. But both the situation of Muslims who have exposed the attacks and being used to describe these attacks, it can lead to a meaning confusion. As a requirement of multicultural life, there is a need for a concept that can be used to express emotions without being converted into hostility. It should also be a concept that does not evoke illness. In this article, it is recommended being used the concept of islamodium, which can only reflect hatred towards Muslims and will not show Islam and Muslims as elements of fear.
