Abstract:

The impact of certain environmental factors and climate conditions on the peanut and milk productivity characteristics in Jersey breeds*
2020

Abstract:

This study was conducted to determine the impact of some environmental factors on the production and reproductive characteristics of the Jersey breed cows. The data set of the study was created using the temperature-nate index (SI) values calculated using the rain yield, lactation records and climate data provided by the General Directorate of Meteorology for the period 2014-2016 of the Jersey race cattle grown in the Amasya Gökhöyük Agricultural Enterprise. From the environmental factors reviewed, the age of bu-fertilization; 2-3, 4-5 and 6+, the fertilization season; winter, spring, summer and autumn temperature moisture index; <70, 70-72 and 72<, the number of lactations; 1, 2, 3 and 4+ are grouped. The study found that the increase in breastfeeding age and the number of lactations extended the service period, the number of seeds per pregnancy (GBTS) and the 305 day milk productivity increased. The increase in the average temperature-nate index has been found to shorten the service period and increase the GBTS. The 305 day milk production has been found to tend to decrease in the spring and summer months due to the seasonal increase in the temperature-nate index average. As a result; the impact of environmental factors, such as breastfeeding age, the number of lactation and the temperature moisture index in the Jersey race cows on the service period, GBTS and the breastfeeding range is sta-tistically unimportant, while the impact of the breastfeeding number and the breastfeeding season on the 305 day milk output is statistically important (P<0. 001 was found.

Effect Of Some Environmental and Climatic Conditions On Reproduction and Milk Yield Traits In Jersey Cows
2020
Author:
Abstract:

This research was performed in order to determine effects of some environmental factors on productive and reproductive traits in the Jersey cows. Data set of this research consisted of lactation and reproduction records of Jersey cows raised at Amasya Gökhöyük State Farm between 2014 and 2016 and climatic data, used to calculated temperature humidity index, obtained from General Directorate of Meteorology. Environmental factors were divided to be calving age; 2-3, 4-5 and 6+, calving season; winter, spring, summer and fall, THI; <70, 70-72 and 72<, lactation number; 1, 2, 3, 4+. In this study it was determined that the increase in calving age and lactation number prolonged the days open, as well as increasing the number of insemination per pregnancy and 305 days milk yield. Increasing tem-perature humidity index shortened days open but it increased the number of insemination per pregnancy. The 305 days milk yield tend to decrease in spring and summer depending on seasonal increase in temperature humidity index. In conclusion, In Jersey, the effect of environmental factors such as calving age, lactation number and temperature hu-midity index on days open, the number of insemination per pregnancy, and calving interval was insignificant while lac-tation number and calving season on 305 days milk yield was significant (P<0.001).
