Göç, temel toplumsal olguların başında gelmekte ve önemli bir sosyal hizmet alanını oluşturmaktadır. 2011’den itibaren Türkiye’ye Suriye’den yaşanan zorunlu ve kitlesel göç hareketiyle birlikte, toplumsal dinamiklerin ve politikaların da değişime uğradığı görülmektedir. Günümüzde, göçle ilişkili politikalarda Suriyeli bireylerin güvenlik, barınma gibi temel ihtiyaçlarının karşılanması odağından ayrılarak sosyal uyumun sağlanmasına yönelik bir ihtiyacın doğduğu kaçınılmaz bir gerçekliktir. Sosyal uyumun ana anahtarlarından biri olan eğitim, Suriyeli çocukların nüfus olarak yoğunluğu düşünüldüğünde ülkemiz için önemli bir aracı oluşturmaktadır.Bu aracın biraz daha yapılandırılarak çokkültürlü modele uygun hale getirilmesi önem taşımaktadır. İnsan haklarının ve ülkemizdeki mevzuatın bir gereği olarak temel haklardan biri olan eğitime yönelik fırsat eşitliğinin sağlanmasının toplumsal üretkenliği artırmaya ve refahı geliştirmeye olan katkısı açıktır. Bu bağlamda, çokkültürlü eğitimin sosyal hizmet bakış açısıyla tartışılması amacını taşıyan bu çalışmada, eğitim müfredatının konu edilmesinden ziyade ülkemizde uygulanabilecek bir çokkültürlü eğitim modelinin ana ilkeleri ve temel çıktıları tartışılmaya çalışılmıştır. Çokkültürlü eğitimin, güçlendirme ve hak savunuculuğu üzerine kurulu olduğu ve sosyal uyum için önemli adımlardan birini oluşturduğu düşünülmektedir. Çalışmanın sonunda, çokkültürlü eğitim yapısının farklı kültürleri tanıması ve kabullenmesi odağına oturtulması ve okul sosyal hizmeti bağlamında geliştirilmesi önerilmiştir.
Immigration comes at the forefront of fundamental social events and constitutes an important area of social service. Since 2011, with the compulsory and massive migration movement from Syria to Turkey, the social dynamics and policies are also changing. Today, in immigration-related policies, it is a inevitable reality where a need for social harmony is born, apart from the focus of the satisfaction of the basic needs of Syrian individuals, such as security, housing. Education, one of the main keys to social harmony, is an important tool for our country when considering the intensity of the Syrian children as a population.This tool is a little more structured and it is important to make it suitable for a multicultural model. The contribution of human rights and equal opportunities to education, which is one of the fundamental rights as a requirement of the legislation in our country, is obvious to the improvement of social productivity and prosperity. In this context, in this study, which aims to discuss multicultural education from the point of view of social service, the main principles and basic outcomes of a multicultural educational model that can be applied in our country rather than the subject of the educational curriculum have been tried to discuss. It is believed that multicultural education is based on strengthening and rights defence and is one of the important steps for social harmony. At the end of the study, it was proposed to focus on the recognition and acceptance of different cultures of the multicultural educational structure and to develop in the context of school social service.
Migration is one of the main social facts and constitutes a crucial social work field. It seems to change social dynamics and politics due to the experienced and forced mass migration movements from Syria to Turkey in 2011. Today in the way of migration related policies, it is an inevitable reality that a need for social cohesion emerges from the focus of meeting the basic needs of Syrian individuals such as security and shelter. Education, which is one of the main keys of social cohesion, refers an important tool for our country, considering the density of Syrian children population. It is important to configure this tool a little more and make it suitable for the multicultural model. As a requirement of human rights and the legislation in our country, the providing of equal opportunities for education, which is one of the fundamental rights, obviously contributes to increase social productivity and improve welfare. In this context, within this study, which aims to discuss multicultural education from a social work perspective, the main principles and basic outcomes of a multicultural education model that can be applied in our country rather than the subject of the education curriculum are discussed. Multicultural education is thought to be built on empowerment and advocacy and is one of the important steps for social cohesion. At the end of the study, it was proposed to fix the multicultural education structure in the focus of recognition and acceptance of different cultures and to develop in the context of school social work.
