Abstract:

The ability to speak properly and beautifully constitutes the basis of communication. Being able to speak their mother tongue right and well from young age is a skill formed in the school environment outside of family life and where teachers play a role model. Therefore, class teachers and class teacher candidates should be careful and sufficient in the diction. The purpose of this study is to determine the opinions of the class teacher candidates on the diction. In the visual model of the research, the data was collected through an survey consisting of open end questions. The study was attended by 55 teachers candidates who studied in the 3rd class of a public university’s Class Teaching Program in the 2015-2016 academic year spring period. The research data is analyzed through visual analysis. According to the results of the research, the teaching candidates have found that the diction is important for teaching, that they should develop themselves and that a training in this field should be taken.
