Abstract:

According to the multicultural personality dimensions determined by Van der Zee & Van Oudenhoven (2002, 2003) this study aims to identify the level of multicultural personality characteristics of teachers candidates who participate in pedagogical formation training at the Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University’s educational faculty and whether these characteristics differ according to gender, age, professional area and the area experienced. Pedagogical formation training is considered to be an arithmetic average to determine the levels of personality characteristics of the teachers candidates for multicultural education. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to test whether the personality characteristics of multicultural education differ by gender and age; the ANOVA test was used to test whether the characteristics of the personality differ by gender and age. As a result; the multi-cultural personality characteristics of the teacher candidates are the level of load-second. There are significant differences in some dimensions of the multi-cultural personality characteristics according to the variable of gender and age range, while there are no differences in some dimensions. On the other hand, there was no significant difference between the multi-cultural personality characteristics of the teacher candidates according to the variables of the professional field and the area experienced.
