Abstract:

Professional education, which aims to acquire professional knowledge and skills, has emerged as a field of education in the world since the 18th century. In our country, the history of professional education extends to the Association of Ahilik. However, in the modern sense, professional education has gained rapidity in the last period of Ottoman's relief. In the period of the Republic, special attention was given to vocational education, and the project for the strengthening of the vocational education and teaching system, signed with the European Union, has been a turning point in terms of vocational education in our country. In our country, the high school foot of communication education is composed of more than seventy communications faculty. At the high school level, communication training is carried out through high school professions. Communication education has begun on the basis of secondary education, but its main development has been at the level of higher education. Therefore, the vast majority of the studies on communication education have been focused on higher education. The status of communication education in the secondary education institutions is quite limited. In this study, the communication training provided in the professional high schools in Turkey was described with the main lines, various opinions and suggestions on the subject were expressed. Today, communication education is provided in three fields: Journalism, Public Relations and Radio Television and in ten branches related to these fields. However, a number of restrictions have been made when it is addressed. The study only covered the communication programs in public schools, private vocational high schools were excluded. In addition, the institutions associated with the Directorate General of Lifelong Learning have been disabled, the work is limited to the professional and technical high schools associated with the Directorate General of Professional and Technical Education.

At secondary level, communication education is conducted through vocational high schools. Although communication education started on the basis of secondary education, its main development was at higher education level. Therefore, most of the studies oncommunication education are centered on higher education. Studies on the situation of communication education in secondary education institutions are quite limited. In this study, depicted with Turkey in vocational training outlined in the communication, he has voiced a variety of opinions and recommendations on the subject. Today, communication education is provided in vocational high schools in three fields: Journalism, Public Relations and Radio Television and in ten branches connected to these fields. However, some limitations have been made in dealing with the issue. The study included only communication programs in public schools and private vocational high schools were excluded. In addition, the institutions affiliated to the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning were deactivated and the study was limited to vocational and technical high schools affiliated to the General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education.
