Abstract:

The October Revolution is accepted as the most important revolution in the world history. The Russian Empire was in choppy political waters by propaganda of revolutionary organizations since 19th century and tended to decline. Socialist ideas which spread from Europe to Russia were assumed quickly by groups hated the Tsardom, and then revolutionary organizations assassinated Tsar Alexander II in 1881. At the begininning of 20th century, the Tsardom came to the end owing to the Russo-Japanese War and the World War I which broken out afterwards. Peasant's revolts, strikes and uprisings brought Bolsheviks to the power, while burying the Tsardom into the history. Thus the first socialist state in the world history was established. This article aims to explain reasons of the October Revolution and how it flourished and came into existence. Especially events occured in Russia between February and October, the Kornilov Revolt, struggle of power between the Provisional Government and Bolsheviks and their adventure to the power are examined by translating some original sources.
