Covid-19 salgını dünya üzerinde yaklaşık 24 milyon vaka ve 800.000 ölüme sebebiyet vermiştir (29.08.2020). Covid-19 salgını, hayatın birçok alanını olumsuz etkilediği gibi eğitim alanını da derinden etkilediği görülmektedir. Salgından dolayı okulların kapanması, eğitimin temel bileşenleri olan öğrenci, öğretmen ve eğitim sistemini ciddi anlamda etkilediği görülmektedir. Bu düşüncelerden yola çıkılarak bu çalışmadaki amaç, Covid-19 salgının öğrenci ve öğretmenler üzerindeki etkilerini, öğrenci ve öğretmenlerin uzaktan eğitime ilişkin bakış açılarını inceleyen literatürün taranmasıdır. Bu çalışmada anlatı incelenmesi yöntemi kullanılarak araştırmalardaki verilerin bir karşılaştırılması yapılmıştır. İlgili literatür incelendiğinde, yapılan çalışmaların daha çok öğrencilerin Covid-19 salgını süresince verilen uzaktan eğitime ilişkin görüşleri (n= 6, %37.5) ve öğrencilerin Covid-19’dan etkilenme durumları (n=6, %37.5) üzerinde yoğunlaştığı görülmektedir. Sonuçlar, öğrencilerin saldırganlık düzeylerinin artış gösterdiği, Covid-19’dan dolayı olumsuz duygular yaşadıkları, sosyal yaşam ritüellerinin değişkenlik gösterdiği, uykusuzluk, depresyon, iştahsızlık, aşırı stres, korku, endişe ve çabuk sinirlenme gibi olumsuzluklar yaşadıkları saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin, genel olarak uzaktan eğitime ilişkin hem olumlu hem de olumsuz düşüncelere sahip oldukları gözlemlenmiştir. Öğretmenler üzerinde yapılan araştırmalar, genç ve bekâr öğretmenler ile kadın öğretmenlerin depresyon, kaygı ve psikolojik esneksizlik düzeylerinin yüksek olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca Covid-19 salgını sürecinde öğretmenlerin sosyal medya ve internette daha fazla zaman geçirdikleri, uzaktan eğitim sistemine olumlu yaklaştıkları görülmüştür. Covid-19 salgınından dolayı özellikle ilkokul, ortaokul ve lise kademelerindeki öğrencelerin nasıl etkilendikleri ile ilgili yeni çalışmaların yapılmasına ihtiyaç vardır.
Covid-19 has caused approximately 24 million cases and 800,000 deaths worldwide (29.08.2020). The Covid-19 epidemic has a profound impact on the field of education, as it has a negative impact on many areas of life. The shutdown of schools due to the infection seems to have a serious impact on the student, teacher and educational system, which are the basic components of education. The aim of this study is to explore the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic on students and teachers, and the perspectives of students and teachers about distance learning. In this study, a comparison of the data in the research was made using the story study method. When the relevant literature is studied, the studies show that the majority of students focus on the opinions on remote education given during the Covid-19 epidemic (n=6.37.5%) and the cases of students affected by Covid-19 (n=6.37.5). The results found that students experienced increased levels of aggression, negative emotions due to Covid-19, varied social life rituals, negative emotions such as insomnia, depression, appetite, excessive stress, fear, anxiety, and rapid irritation. It has been observed that students generally have both positive and negative opinions about distance learning. Research on teachers has shown that young and single teachers and female teachers have high levels of depression, anxiety and psychological impairment. It has also been shown that during the Covid-19 epidemic, teachers spend more time on social media and the internet, taking a positive approach to the remote education system. Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, new studies are needed, especially on how students in primary, secondary and high school stages are affected.
Covid-19 pandemic has resulted nearly 24 million cases and 800.000 deaths in the world (28.09.2020). It is seen that the pandemic affected many fields of life negatively including the field of education profoundly. It is observed that the closure of schools due to the pandemic influenced the education system dramatically and its main components, mainly students and teachers. Based on all these, the aim of this study is to conduct a literature review investigating the effect of the pandemic on students, teachers, and their perspective of distance and/or online education. In this study, a comparison of the data in the studies was made using the narrative analysis method. When the pandemic related literature was reviewed, it was seen that most of the studies generally focused on the students’ views about distance and/or online education (n = 6, 37.5%) and the students’ psychologically getting affected by the pandemic (n = 6, 37.5%). The pandemic related results show that the students have some negative feelings, high levels of aggressivity, and change in exhibiting their social living rituals. The students also experienced some mental health issues including insomnia, depression, and loss of appetite, extreme stress, fear, anxiety, and nervousness. Based on the literature, the students had both positive and negative thoughts about distance and online education, and the young and single teachers and female teachers have high levels of depression, anxiety, and psychological inflexibility. The review also indicated that the teachers spent more time on social media and the internet compared to pre-pandemic and approached distance and/or online education positively. There is a need to conduct a series of studies to understand how the pandemic affects students from a more contextual and comprehensive perspective.
