Çalışmak, her bireyin en temel haklarından biri olmanın yanında bireyleri topluma entegre eden, içsel tatmin sağlayan psiko-sosyal bir ihtiyaçtır. Engelli bireylerin düşük istihdam oranları ile bu temel haktan mahrum oldukları, istihdam halinde olanların da çeşitli sorunlar yaşadıkları bilinmektedir. Tüm engelli grupları içinde görme engellilerin de çalışma yaşamında karşılaştıkları kendilerine özgü zorluklar mevcuttur. Zorluklar karşısında görme engelli bireyler ya çalışma yaşamından yoksun kalmayı tercih etmekte ya da olumsuz çalışma koşulları altında çalışmayı sürdürmektedir. Çalışma yaşamında görme engellilerin yaşadıkları zorlukların tespit edilmesi, bu olumsuz durumların düzeltilmesi ve görme engellilerin istihdamlarının arttırılması açısından büyük önem arz etmektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı istihdam halinde olan görme engelli bireylerin çalışma yaşamında karşılaştıkları zorlukları tespit etmektir. Bu amaçla Çanakkale ilinde istihdam edilen görme engelli vatandaşlarla nitel bir araştırma gerçekleştirilmiştir.

Work is a psychosocial need that integrates individuals into society, and provides inner satisfaction, as well as being one of the most fundamental rights of each individual. It is known that disabled individuals with low employment rates are deprived of this basic right, and those who are in employment also experience various problems. All of those with disabilities in the group also have their own difficulties in their work life. Persons with visual disabilities face difficulties either prefer to be deprived of their work life or continue to work under negative working conditions. Identification of the difficulties faced by visual disabilities in the workplace is of great importance for the correction of these negative conditions and the increase in the employment of visual disabilities. The purpose of this research is to identify the difficulties people with visual disabilities in their work life. For this purpose, a qualitative investigation was carried out with citizens with visual disabilities employed in the province of Çanakkale.

Disabled individuals are deprived of this basic right with low employment rates however it is also known that people with disabilities employed have various problems. In all groups of people with disabilities, there are available specific difficulties that in also visually impaired people face in their working life. In the face of difficulties, visually impaired individuals either prefer to be deprived of working life or continue to work under adverse working conditions. It is of great importance to identify the difficulties experienced by visually impaired people in working life, to correct these negative situations and in terms of to increase the employment of visually impaired people. The aim of this study is to identify the difficulties faced by visually impaired individuals in employment. For this purpose, a qualitative research was carried out with visually impaired citizens employed in Çanakkale.
