Abstract:

Migration mobility is an issue that concerns the whole World. The attitude of the receiving countries and their citizens towards asylum seekers and refugees is very important. There are various rights that immigrants should have as long as they live in the country they migrated to. Individuals who come to the country as asylum seekers, refugees, or immigrants should also benefit from education, which is one of these rights. This research aimed to reveal the problems experienced by the refugee students in terms of the opinions of the school administrators and to propose solutions. In this study, interviews were conducted with the school principal and vice-principals. It can be suggested to future researchers to determine teachers' views on the problems of refugee students and to add new dimensions to the subject by meeting with refugee students and their families. It is also important to design studies with larger samples and to take more comprehensive steps towards solving the problems experienced by refugee students. As a result of this research, it has been determined that school administrators try to solve the problems of refugee students by providing language courses, socio-cultural activities and school activities, integration seminars and integration classes, parent visits, guidance and psychological counseling services, support education and economic support. In addition, this study revealed that school administrators have made suggestions for refugee students to solve their problems, such as language education, solving problems of adaptation and introducing culture, placing them in classes according to Turkish proficiency, providing education in their mother languages, guiding them to study in different schools, providing economic support, and increasing communication with the families.
