Abstract:

Bu çalışmada, okul kültürünün ilkokul öğretmenleri görüşlerine göre değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden fenomenoloji deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, kolayda örneklem yaklaşımı kullanılarak araştırmaya dâhil edilen 11 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır.  Veri toplamak için yarı yapılandırılmış bir görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmacı verileri elde etmek için yüz yüze görüşmeler gerçekleştirmiştir. Görüşme formundan elde edilen ham veriler, veri analizinde kullanılmak üzere yöntemsel olarak hazırlanmıştır. İçerik analizi ile verilerin değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, katılımcılar içinde bulundukları okul kültürünü olumlu ve yerleşik bir kültür olarak değerlendirmekte ve sevgi, saygı, iş birliği ve ekip ruhu gibi değerlerin hâkim olduğu bir kültür istemektedir. Okul kültürünü belirleyen faktörler arasında değerler, gelenekler, iletişim, ilişkiler ve okulun paydaşları ön plana çıkmaktadır. Okul kültürü, çalışanların moral, motivasyon ve iş tatminini olumlu yönde etkilemekte, iletişimi güçlendirmekte ve problemlerin çözümünü kolaylaştırmaktadır. Katılımcılar kendilerini genellikle okul kültürünün bir parçası olarak görmekte ve okul kültürüne katkılarını iletişim, iş birliği, liderlik ve performans geliştirme aracılığıyla gerçekleştirmektedir. Okul kültürünün eğitim ve öğretimin kalitesi üzerinde olumlu etkileri bulunmakta ve velilerin de okul kültürüne dahil edilmesi gerektiği vurgulanmaktadır.

Abstract:

In this study, the aim is to evaluate school culture according to the teachers' views. In this study, the phenomenological design of the quality research methods was used. The study group consists of 11 teachers who are involved in the research using the easy sampling approach.  A semi-configured conversation form has been used to collect data. The researchers conducted face-to-face conversations to obtain data. The raw data obtained from the interview form is methodically prepared for use in data analysis. Analysis of data has been done. According to the results of the study, participants evaluate the school culture they are in as a positive and intrinsic culture and want a culture where values such as love, respect, cooperation and team spirit dominate. Among the factors that determine the school culture are values, traditions, communication, relationships and the school’s stakeholders. The school culture positively affects employees’ morality, motivation and work satisfaction, strengthens communication and facilitates the resolution of problems. Participants often see themselves as part of school culture and make their contribution to school culture through communication, cooperation, leadership and performance development. School culture has a positive impact on the quality of education and teaching, and it is emphasized that parents should be incorporated into school culture.

The study group consisted of 11 teachers and parents who were included in the study using a convenience sampling approach.  A semi-structured interview form was used to collect data. The researcher conducted face-to-face interviews to obtain data. The raw data obtained from the interview form were methodologically prepared to be used in data analysis. Content analysis was used to evaluate the data. According to the results of the research, the participants evaluate the school culture they are in as a positive and established culture and want a culture dominated by values such as love, respect, cooperation and team spirit. Among the factors that determine school culture, values, traditions, communication, relationships and school stakeholders come to the fore. School culture positively affects employees' morale, motivation and job satisfaction, strengthens communication and facilitates problem solving. Participants generally see themselves as part of the school culture and realize their contributions to school culture through communication, collaboration, leadership and performance development. School culture has positive effects on the quality of education and training and it is emphasized that parents should be included in the school culture.
