Bu çalışmanın temel amacı Ortadoğu’daki Ermeni diaspora yapısının tarihi açıdan incelenmesidir. Bu çerçevede Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’ndan günümüze Türkiye’nin hem Ermenistan’la olan ilişkilerinde hem de uluslararası ilişkilerinde önemli bir etkiye sahip olan diaspora Ermenilerinin doğru bir şekilde analiz edilmeleri öngörülmektedir. Bu çalışma aslen benzer bir kökenden gelen Ortadoğudaki Ermeni diasporasının günümüzdeki siyasi yönelimlerinde içinde yaşadıkları bölgenin ne kadar etkili olduğunun sorgulanmasını hedeflemektedir. Diğer bir deyişle bu çalışmada şu sorulara yanıt aranacaktır: İçinde yaşadıkları bölgenin siyasi, ekonomik, toplumsal ve kültürel yapısı bu diasporaların yapısını nasıl şekillendirmektedir? Ortadoğudaki Ermeni diasporasından monolitik bir entite olarak söz edilebilir mi yokes ülke bazında bir diaspora yapılanması mı mevcuttur? İçinde bulundukları topluma Ermeniler nasıl entegre olmuşlardır? Diaspora yapılanması nasıl kurumsallaşmıştır? Ortadoğudaki Ermeni diasporasında kurumsal bir bağ mevcut mudur? Ortadoğu’da Ermeni diasporasının günümüzde anavatan Ermenistan ve Türkiye ile ilişkileri nasıldır? Ortadoğu'daki Ermeni diasporaları 1915 Olayları konusundaki faaliyetlerde eşit derecede etkili midirler?
In this study, the historical process of the Armenian diaspora structure in the Middle East will be examined in general terms. Then at first, the concept of diaspora and diaspora studies in international literature will be evaluated. Later, the historical formations of diaspora Armenians will be discussed. Thus, it will be evaluated how influential the region they live in on the current political orientation of the Armenian diaspora in the Middle East. In other words, this study will seek answers to the following questions: How do the political, economic, social and cultural structure of the region they live in shape the structure of these diasporas? Can the Armenian diaspora in the Middle East be mentioned as a monolithic entity or is there a diaspora structuring on a country basis? How have the developments in the Middle East affected and shaped the structure of the Armenian diaspora in the historical process?
