Tarih boyunca üç adet endüstriyel devrim gerçekleşmiştir. Bilgi toplumunun gelmiş olduğu son endüstriyel devrim ise Endüstri 4.0 olarak anılmaktadır. Endüstri 4.0, birbirleriyle iletişim kuran ve veri analizi yaparak ihtiyaçlarını belirleyen makinelerle üretimi başlatarak daha verimli üretim yapmayı amaçlamaktadır. Günümüzde, teknolojinin gelişmesi ve yaygınlaşmasıyla birlikte birçok yapısal değişiklik meydana gelmiştir. Bu gelişmelerden biri de kripto paralardır. Bu para birimleri arasında piyasa büyüklüğü olarak en yüksek değere sahip olan Bitcoin’dir. Bunun dışında, çok çeşitli amaçlara yönelik kripto paralar da dünya çapında varlıklarını sürdürmektedir. Bitcoin’in ortaya çıkışı ile blok zincir teknolojisiyle tanışıldı ve bu teknoloji 2009’dan beri giderek gelişmeye devam etmiştir. Blok zincir teknolojisi, güvenilir bir merkezi otoriteye bağlı olmayan ve dağıtılmış olarak bulunan bir kayıt sistemi olarak tanımlanabilir. Bu çalışmada Bitcoin ve arkasındaki blok zincir teknolojisi ele alınarak piyasadaki diğer kripto paralara değinilmiştir. Bununla birlikte, alt sektörlerin yarattığı yeni ekonomiler hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve Kripto paraların gelecekteki etkileri hakkında kısa bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır.
Three industrial revolutions have occurred throughout history. The last industrial revolution in which the information society came is called Industry 4.0. Industry 4.0 aims to make production more efficient by starting production with machines that communicate with each other and analyze data by determining their needs. Nowadays, many structural changes have occurred with the development and spread of technology. One of these developments is cryptocurrencies. Between these currencies is Bitcoin, which has the highest value as the market size. In addition, cryptocurrencies for a wide variety of purposes also maintain their assets worldwide. With the appearance of Bitcoin, it was introduced to the blockchain technology and this technology has continued to evolve since 2009. Block chain technology can be defined as a recording system that is not affiliated and distributed to a reliable central authority. In this study, Bitcoin and the blockchain technology behind it were addressed to other cryptocurrencies on the market. However, information has been provided about the new economies created by the sub-sector and a brief assessment of the future effects of cryptocurrencies has been made.
