Abstract:

Teaching Turkish as a foreign language is an area of great importance and interest in terms of contributing to the development of international political, social and economic relations by interacting with other nations and cultures through individuals who know Turkish and Turkish culture, not only within its borders. With the increasing demands for teaching Turkish as a foreign language, the need for Turkish teachers to work in language centers established both in Turkey and abroad is increasing day by day. In this context, certificate programs are organized for teaching Turkish to foreigners. In this context, certificate programs are organized for teaching Turkish to foreigners. Qualitative research approach was applied in this research, which aims to determine the concerns of language teachers who will teach Turkish as a foreign language, who attend the Turkish Language Teaching Certificate Program practice courses in order to teach Turkish as a foreign language. The study group consisted of 56 instructor candidates who attended the Turkish Teaching Certificate Program practice courses at Atatürk University Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center in order to enter Turkish teaching courses in private or public institutions that provide Turkish education to foreigners. Content analysis, one of the qualitative data analysis techniques, was used in the analysis of the data obtained by collecting the data via the Google Form through an interview form consisting of five open-ended questions. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the majority of the language teachers who will teach Turkish as a foreign language they have concerns about themselves, their students and for their field in the educational process and in the other hand their colleagues and their practices in the educational environment.
