Abstract:

This research aimed to determine the views of children books’ authors on children's publishing in Turkey. One of the qualitative patterns, phenomenology pattern was used in the research. Participants of the study consisted of fifteen children's authors who attended Kahramanmaraş book fair. Interviews with open-ended questions were recorded and transcribed. Content analysis method was used in the analysis of the data. The data were coded and similar codes were collected under the same theme and sub-themes. As a result of the research, the development and change in children's publishing has been experienced, however, about children books’ publishing in Turkey; Publishers, institutions and organizations, author, reader, editor, translation works, genre and content, language and expression, visuals, heroes, transfer of values, negative impact of media and technology on development, economic concerns and child writer with distribution problems were reflected in their views.
