After the capture and colonization of Turkestan, there were many rebellion movements against the imperialist policies of Tsarist Russia. The Crimea Batır Rebellion between the years 1779-1785 against the Russian occupation, 1812, 1827, 1829 Bökey Orda Rebellions, November Khan Movement in 1824-1840, the struggle started by Sultan Kenesari Khan between 1840-1845, Nur Alioğlu and The Hoca Batır Rebellions, the 1868 Samarkand and Bukhara Uprising, the Mangışlak Operation between 1870-1873 and the Aftabacı Abdurrahman Bey uprisings in Fergana started in 1875-1876. Then, in 1878, the Yetim Khan in Andijan, Andican and Mergilân Derviş Khan in 1882, in 1889, the riots of Shakir Can occurred around Khokand. The rebellion that began in Turkestan in 1916 and the Basmacism Movement, which manifested itself afterwards, were the last struggles for independence against Russian imperialism. But all these rebellions were violently suppressed by both Tsarist Russia and Soviet Russia. The discussion of these independence movements in terms of Soviet history led to different views. The National Struggle for Turkestan was treated within the framework of the materialistic and Soviet view of history, and was generally regarded as "inter-class struggle", "Pan-Turkist" and "Pan-Islamist" movements. In this study, the determination of the character of the Turkestan National Struggle was made by taking into consideration the 1916 General Uprising and the Basmachi Movement in Turkestan.
