Abstract:

The aim of the research is to develop a likert type scale that can determine the public relations understanding of universities according to their postgraduate education student’s perception. Scale development work was conducted on 273 students attending postgraduate studies in universities of Turkey in 2020-2021 academic year. The findings of Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were examined for the validity of the scale items while the findings of Cronbach’s Alpha Internal consistency coefficients were examined for its reliability. As a result of the factor analyzes, it was observed that the scale consisted of 4 dimensions and 24 items. This scale reflects 63,778% of the opinions of postgraduate students. The Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of the scale was found as 0.867. As a result of the findings, it was revealed that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool. As a result of the research, consisting of 4 dimensions and 24 items,"Public Relations Scale in Postgraduate Education" was developed in a four-point Likert type. The highest score that can be obtained from the scale is 96 and the lowest score is 24.
