Televizyon, icat edildiği tarihten bu yana toplumsal etkisi açısından önemini koruyan bir kitle iletişim aracı olmuştur. Topluma yönelik farklı fonksiyonları olan televizyonun en önemli işlevi haber ve bilgi vermedir. Haber verme işlevi, televizyon için sonraları diğer işlevlerden biri olan eğlendirme işlevi ile karışmaya başlamış ve haber sunumları sunucu temelinde şekillenmeye başlamıştır. Bu bağlamda ilk olarak ABD’de ortaya çıkan “anchor” kavramı ana haber bültenlerine yeni bir soluk getirmiştir. Gün sonunda olup bitenleri öğrenmek için bireyler tarafından sıklıkla tercih edilen ana haber bültenleri aynı zamanda televizyon kanalları için de bir prestij göstergesidir. Bu nedenle televizyon kanalına karşı bireylerin birtakım yargılara varacağı ana haber bültenleri oldukça önemli görülmektedir. Ana haber bülteninde işlenen haber konuları, haber sıralaması, sunucunun haberi sunuş tarzı gibi unsurlar televizyon kanalının izlenmesi açısından belirleyici olabilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı da ana haber bültenlerinde işlenen haber konuları ve haberin sunum tarzının reyting ile bir ilişkisi olup olmadığını belirtmektir. Çalışma, Türkiye’deki ana haber bültenlerinin toplum tarafından tercih edilme sebeplerini ortaya koyma açısından önem taşımaktadır. Bu bağlamda, Türkiye’de en çok izlenen ana haber bültenleri (haber konusu, haber sayısı, sunum şekli açısından ele alınarak) nitelik ve nicelik olarak içerik çözümlemesi yöntemiyle incelenmiş, ana haber bültenlerinde yayınlanan haberlerin konusu ve sunum şekli ile reyting oranları arasında bağlantı olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
Television has been a mass communication tool that has retained its importance in terms of its social impact since its invention. The television’s important function, with different functions towards society, is to provide news and information. The notification function began to blend with the entertainment function, which was one of the other functions for television later, and the news presentations began to form on the server basis. In this context, the concept of "anchor" first emerged in the United States has brought a new breath to the main news newspapers. The main news newspapers, often preferred by individuals to learn what’s going on at the end of the day, are also an indicator of prestige for television channels. Therefore, the main news bulletins that individuals will reach a number of trials against the television channel are quite important. The news subjects processed in the main news bulletin, the news ranking, the server’s news presentation style, such as the elements can be determining in terms of television channel’s monitoring. The purpose of this study is also to indicate whether the news subjects processed in the main news newspapers and whether the presentation style of the news has a relationship with the rating. The study is of importance in terms of revealing the reasons why main news newspapers in Turkey are preferred by the society. In this context, the main news newspapers that are widely monitored in Turkey (this topic, the number of news, the form of presentation), which are qualitatively and quantitatively examined by the method of content analysis, the news published in the main news newspapers have been found to have a link between the subject and the form of presentation and the ratings.
Since its invention, television has been a means of mass communication that has maintained its importance in terms of social impact. The most important function of television, which has different functions for the society, is to provide news and information. The news function started to interfere with the entertainment function, one of the other functions for television, and news presentations began to take shape on a server basis. In this context, the concept of or anchor, which appeared in the USA first, brought a new breath to the main news bulletins. Main newsletters, which are frequently preferred by individuals to learn what is happening at the end of the day, are also a prestige indicator for television channels. For this reason, it is seen that the main news bulletins in which individuals make judgments against the television channel are very important. The news topics, news rankings, presentation style of the presenter and news items in the main news bulletin can be decisive in terms of watching the television channel. The aim of this study is to determine whether the news topics covered in the main news bulletins and the style of presentation of the news are related to the rating. This study is important in terms of revealing the reasons of choosing the main newsletters by society in Turkey. In this context, the most watched news bulletins in Turkey (news topics, news number of administrations as well, in terms of presentation by taking shape) were investigated qualitatively and quantitatively.
