Abstract:

The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to measure the achievements of students in Acids and Bases. The study first created a list of achievements taking into account the 2018 Science Course Curriculum, then the materials were written in such a way that they would fit the achievements. Before the test end was given, the opinions of three faculty members specializing in chemistry in terms of the consistency of the scientific knowledge of the prepared test materials and two teachers of science classes, two language experts in terms of language knowledge, and various arrangements on the test materials were made. The study was carried out in the 2018-2019 academic year. The test was completed with a pilot study of 10 students in the 8th grade. Students have been given the final arrangements on the test materials and the Acid-Baz Success Test (ABBT) has been given the final status. The final test was applied to the students of the 212th grade. The test data was analyzed using SPSS 23.0, ITEMAN 3.0 and FACTOR applications. With ITEMAN 3.0, the differentiability index was 0.747 and the material difficulty index was 0.496 as a result of the analysis of the substances. Kuder-Richardson-20 (KR-20) was calculated to determine the internal consistency of the test with the values obtained from the material analysis and found 0.732 . The FACTOR application was used to calculate the structure validity of the test and the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value was found at 0.778 . When the achieved results are examined, it is seen that the developed ABBT has achieved valid and reliable results. ABBT is considered to be a measurement tool provided for validity and reliability that can be used by the teachers of science because it is prepared in accordance with the achievements.
