Abstract:

This study was conducted with the aim of identifying the perceptions of the university students about the local, historical and cultural level of knowledge and their thoughts about the future of the Turkish World about the independent Turkish Republics and Turkish communities with autonomous governance. In this context, the sample group of the research was formed by 321 students from Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University Faculty of Science and Literature, Faculty of Sports Sciences and Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. In the framework of the research, 17 material survey created by researchers were implemented to identify the perception of the students towards the Turkish World. The study found that the data obtained in the normality tests of Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk showed normal distribution. In the analysis of binary variants, the Independent T test was applied to the one-way variance analysis test in the test of more than two variants. LSD from Post Hoc tests were made to determine which groups of meaningful differences are between the result of the one-way Varyans test. According to the average score of the survey answers, the perceptions of the students towards the Turkish World were found to be in a positive direction. There were no significant differences in the classes of the participants. Tests on gender and faculties have found significant differences. This difference has been seen between the students of the Faculty of Science and Literature and the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, the Faculty of Sports Sciences and the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. The study concluded that the participants perceived the concept of the Turkish World as a nation with a common culture, they recognized the independent Turkish Republics in general, and that the political, economic, military unity of the Turkish Republics would increase the power of the Turkish World on the international platform, and that the Turkish Union should be established.
