Sosyo-ekonomik düzey içinde bulunulan kültürün imkanlarından faydalanmayı önemli ölçüde etkilemektedir. Sosyo-ekonomik düzeyi düşük bireyler toplumun diğer kesimlerine göre bu imkanlardan daha az yararlanmakta ve toplumsal yaşama etkin katılımları sınırlı bir biçimde gerçekleşmektedir. Bu durum bireylerin psikolojik iyi oluşlarını olumsuz etkilemektedir. Bu bağlamda sosyo-ekonomik düzeyi düşük bireylerin psikolojik yardım hizmetlerine ulaşmaları ve bu hizmetlerden verim almaları oldukça önemli bir hale gelmiştir. Bu çalışma, alt sosyo-ekonomik düzeyi çok kültürlü psikolojik danışma yaklaşımı bağlamında inceleme amacıyla yazılmıştır. Araştırmada sosyo-ekonomik durum, yoksulluk ve dezavantajlı grupların kavramsal çerçevesi hakkında bilgiler sunulmuş, dünyada ve Türkiye’de yoksulluk oranları ile ilgili istatistiki bilgiler paylaşılmış ve grupla psikolojik danışmada sosyo-ekonomik durumun grup üyesi seçimine etkisi, kültürel farklılıklara duyarlılıkla ilgili etik kurallar, psikolojik danışman ile danışan ilişkisinin nasıl olacağı ve çok kültürlü psikolojik danışma yeterlilikleri tartışılmıştır. Makalede sunulan görüşler çeşitli araştırma sonuçlarıyla desteklenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu araştırma ulusal ve uluslararası alanyazını incelenerek yazılan derleme bir çalışmadır.
It has a significant impact on the benefit of the possibilities of the social and economic culture. Socio-economically low individuals are less beneficial than other sections of society, and their effective participation in social life is limited. This situation affects the psychological well-being of individuals. In this context, the low socio-economic level of individuals has become very important to access psychological assistance services and benefit from these services. This study was written for the purpose of studying the low socio-economic level in the context of a multicultural psychological consultation approach. The study provided information about the conceptual framework of the socio-economic situation, poverty and disadvantaged groups, statistical information about the poverty rates in the world and in Turkey was shared and the impact of the socio-economic situation in the group's psychological consultation on the group's choice of members, ethical rules on sensitivity to cultural differences, how the relationship with the psychological consultant will be and the multicultural psychological consulting competencies were discussed. The opinions presented in the article have been tried to support with various research results. This study is a compilation study written by studying the national and international scope.
Socio-economic status has a significant effect on the utilization of the opportunities within one’s cultural environment. Individuals with low socio-economic status benefit less from these opportunities as compared to other socio-economic strata, which limits their effective participation in the functioning of the society. These circumstances negatively affect the individual’s psychological well-being. In this context, it is critical for individuals with low socio-economic status to have access to and benefit from psychological support services. This study was conducted to examine the lower socio-economic strata within a multicultural psychological counseling approach. In this research, information on the conceptual framing of socio-economic status, poverty and disadvantaged groups was collected, together with statistical information on poverty rates in the world and in Turkey. The effect of socio-economic status on the selection of members for group counseling, the ethical rules related to sensitivity to cultural differences, the relationship between the counselor and the client, and multicultural psychological counseling competencies were discussed. The views presented in the article are supported by findings from the research. This research is a review of national and international literature.
