Anlam kavramı her oluşumun içerisinde bulunmaktadır. Anlam kişiden kişiye göre değişim göstermemektedir. Bu durum da anlamın, içkin bir yapıya sahip olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Göstergebilimde önemli olan içkin durumda bulunan anlamın yorumlanıp değerlendirilerek ortaya konmasıdır. Böylelikle anlamlandırma dediğimiz kavram ortaya çıkmaktadır. Göstergebilim anlamdan ziyade anlamlandırmayı inceleyen bir bilim dalıdır. Anlam tek olmakla birlikte anlamlandırma değişim göstermekte ve böylece ortaya farklı anlamlandırma biçimleri çıkmaktadır. Göstergebilim çalışmaları zaman içerisinde ortaya çıkmakla birlikte Fransız Göstergebilim Okulu ve Charles Sanders Peirce etrafında şekillenmiştir. Fransız Göstergebilim Okulu, Algirdas Julien Greimas etrafında şekillenirken, Amerikan Ekolü olarak adlandırabileceğimiz yönelim ise Peirce’nin ortaya koyduğu yaklaşım temelli şekillenmiştir. Her ne kadar Greimas ekolünde felsefe önemli bir yer tutsa da Peirce ekolünde felsefe, mantık ve matematik temelde yer almaktadır. Bu durum iki yaklaşım arasındaki farkı da ortaya koymaktadır. Greimas yaklaşımı metinlere ve diğer çalışma alanlarına kolaylıkla uygulanabilirken Peirce’nin yaklaşımı sahip olduğu temeller ve bakış açısı nedeniyle daha kısıtlı bir inceleme ve çalışma alanı sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada ele alınan Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn’in Dr. Nicolaes Tulp’un Anatomi Dersi adlı tablosu Peirce’nin göstergebilim yaklaşımından yola çıkılarak çözümlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Çözümleme süreci üçlüklere dayandırılarak ve her bir üçlük ayrı ayrı başlıklarda ele alınarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın diğer alan çalışmalarından farkı Peirce’nin tüm gösterge üçlüklerini ele alıp incelemesidir. Böylelikle bir sanat eseri Peirce’nin üçlüklerinden faydalanılarak mantıksal ve göstergebilimsel olarak çözümlenmiştir.
The meaning of the concept is within every form. It does not change from person to person. This also shows that it has a beverage structure. The most important thing in my indication is that the meaning of the drinking condition is interpreted and assessed. This is how we understand the concept. It is a science that is more likely to understand than to understand. The meaning is one, but the understanding changes, and therefore different forms of understanding arise. The study of indicatorism emerged over time, but it was formed around the French School of indicatorism and Charles Sanders Peirce. The French School of Indicatorism is formed around Algirdas Julien Greimas, while the direction we can call American Ecole is formed based on the approach that Peirce has shown. Though Greimas's column has a major role in philosophy, Peirce's column has a major role in philosophy, logic and mathematics. This also shows the difference between the two approaches. The Greimas approach can be easily applied to texts and other fields of study, while Peirce’s approach offers a more limited area of study and study due to the foundations and perspectives it has. Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn’s Dr. Nicolaes Tulp’s Anatomy Lessons, which was discussed in this study, was attempted to be resolved by starting from Peirce’s indicative approach. The process of solving is based on triangles and each triangle is addressed in separate titles. The difference between this study and other field studies is that Peirce deals with and examines all the indicative triangles. Thus, an artwork was logically and indicatively resolved by taking advantage of the triangles of Peirce.
The concept of meaning has existed in every formation. The meaning is not varied from person to person. That fact shows that the meaning has an implicit structure. The important thing in Semiotics is to reveal the meaning, which is implicit, by interpreting and evaluating. Thus, the concept of signification has appeared. Semiotics is a science that studies about the signification rather than meaning. While the meaning is unique, the signification has showed an alteration and thus, there have been different kinds of signification. Although Semiotics studies have emerged over time, they have been shaped around the French Semiotics School and Charles Sanders Peirce. While the French Semiotics School has been shaped around Algirdas Julien Greimas, the approach which can be called American School has been shaped around the Pierce’s approach. Although philosopy has an important place in the school of Greimas, the school of Peirce has been based on philosophy, logic and mathematics. That fact has revealed the difference between the two aproaches. While the approach of Greimeas can be easily applied on texts and other study fields, the approach of Peirce has suggested more limited analysis and study field because of its fundementals and perspective. In this study, the painting entitled the Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp by Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn has been analysed based on Peirce Semiotics approach. The analysis process has been based on triads and each triad has been discussed in separate titles. The difference between this study and other field studies is that Peirce's all sign triads are analyzed. Thus, an artwork was analyzed logically and semiotically by making use of Peirce's triads.
