Abstract:

Bu araştırma sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin küresel ısınmaya ilişkin görüşlerini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmada öncelikle araştırılan konuya dair literatür taraması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Daha sonra katılımcılara uygulanacak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmada görüşme formu hazırlanırken uzmanlığını sosyal bilgiler eğitimi alanında almış akademisyenlerin görüşlerine başvurulmuştur. Uzman akademisyenlerin sosyal bilgiler alanından seçilmesinin nedeni hem konunun sosyal bilgiler ile ilişkisinin olması hem de konunun sosyal bilgiler eğitimi kapsamında ele alınmasıdır. Uzman akademisyenlerin görüşlerinin alınmasındaki amaç ise çalışmanın geçerlik ve güvenirliğini arttırmaktır. Araştırmada elde dilen veriler yazılı doküman, yüz yüze ve online olmak üzere üç farklı şekilde toplanmıştır. Bu sebeple farklı illerden katılımcılara ulaşım sağlanmıştır. Araştırmaya katılım gösteren katılımcıların gerçek isimleri yerine kod isimler (K.1, K.4, K.7, vb.) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması modeli uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 20 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu belirlenirken amaçlı örneklem yöntemlerinden kolay ulaşılabilir örneklem yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Araştımada elde edilen veriler bilgisayarda Microsoft Office Word dosyasına aktarılıp metin haline getirilmiş ve veriler kodlama metoduyla betimsel analize tabi tutulmuştur. Katılımcıların araştırma sorularına verdikleri cevaplar ilk önce 74 kodda toplanmıştır. Daha sonra birbirleri ile ilişkilendirilen bu kodların sayısı 36’ya indirilmiştir. Bu kodlardan bazıları: sıcaklığın artması, buzulların erimesi, sıcaklık, kıtlık, zararlı gazlar, sanayileşme, sosyal medya, ağaçlandırma, kamu spotu, sağlık sorunları vb. kodlardır. Araştırmanın güvenirliği Miles ve Huberman’ın (1994) güvenirlik formülüne göre hesaplanmıştır ve araştırmanın güvenirliği % 94 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin küresel ısınmaya dair belli bir bilgi birikimine sahip oldukları ve sosyal bilgiler dersinin küresel ısınmaya yönelik toplumsal bilinç oluşturmada önemli bir ders olduğuna ulaşılmıştır.

Abstract:

This research aims to reveal the opinions of social information teachers about global warming. The research was conducted first on the literary examination of the subject. A semi-configured interview form is then prepared to be applied to participants. During the study, the interview form was prepared to apply to the opinions of academics who gained their expertise in the field of social information education. The reason for the selection of specialized academics from the field of social information is that the subject is both related to social information and the subject is addressed within the framework of social information education. The aim of taking the opinions of experts academics is to increase the validity and reliability of the study. The requested data obtained in the study was collected in three different ways: written document, face-to-face and online. Therefore, transportation is provided to participants from different regions. Code names instead of the real names of the participants who participated in the study (K.1, K.4, K.7, etc.) has been used. In the research methods of quality research model is applied. The study group consisted of 20 social knowledge teachers. When determining the study’s work group, the easy-to-access sample method was preferred from the purpose sample methods. The data obtained in the search was transferred to the Microsoft Office Word file on the computer and texted and the data was submitted to visual analysis using the coding method. The answer to the research questions of the participants was first collected in 74 codes. The number of these codes linked to each other was later reduced to 36. Some of these codes include: the increase in temperature, the erosion of the ice, the temperature, the hunger, the harmful gases, the industrialization, social media, the treening, the public spot, health issues, etc. They are codes. The reliability of the study was calculated according to the reliability formula of Miles and Huberman (1994) and the reliability of the study was calculated at 94%. The study concluded that social information teachers had a certain accumulation of knowledge about global warming and that social information course was an important course in creating social awareness for global warming.

Abstract:

This research aims to reveal the views of social studies teachers on global warming. In the research, first of all, a literature review on the researched subject was carried out. Afterwards, a semi-structured interview form to be applied to the participants was prepared. While preparing the interview form in the research, the opinions of the academicians who received their expertise in the field of social studies education were consulted. The reason why expert academicians are selected from the field of social studies is that the subject is related to social studies and that the subject is handled within the scope of social studies education. The purpose of taking the opinions of expert academicians is to increase the validity and reliability of the study. The data obtained in the research were collected in three different ways: written document, face-to-face and online. For this reason, transportation was provided to participants from different provinces. Code names (P.1, P.4, P.7, etc.) were used instead of the real names of the participants participating in the research. The case study model, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. The study group of the research consisted of 20 social studies teachers. While determining the study group of the research, the easily accessible sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was preferred. The data obtained in the research were transferred to the Microsoft Office Word file on the computer and converted into text, and the data were subjected to descriptive analysis by coding method. The answers given by the participants to the research questions were first collected in 74 codes. Later, the number of these codes associated with each other was reduced to 36. Some of these codes are: increase in temperature, melting of glaciers, heat, famine, harmful gases, industrialization, social media, afforestation, public service announcements, health problems, etc. are codes. The reliability of the research was calculated according to the reliability formula of Miles and Huberman (1994), and the reliability of the research was calculated as 94%. At the end of the research, it was concluded that social studies teachers have a certain knowledge about global warming and that the social studies lesson is an important lesson in creating social awareness about global warming.
