Abstract:

The knowledge and skills levels of teachers about where, when, how and how technology is used in education will directly affect the learning process of today’s generation called the “z generation”. Therefore, in the axis of digital and technological developments, teachers training programs need to be updated in accordance with the requirements of the digital age. Teacher candidates to be graduated with a sufficient level of technological knowledge and skills and to reflect their accumulation of knowledge in the field of technology in their teaching experiences are among the basic requirements of modern educational understanding. In this context, the number of teachers and teachers candidates who study the Knowledge of the Technical Pedagogical Field is increasing both in the country and abroad. In this study, the knowledge of the technological pedagogical field of teachers teaching Turkish as a foreign language has been studied in terms of age, gender, state of learning, degree of teaching, field of graduation and variables of professional experience. The results of the study conducted with the participation of 277 Turkish teachers working in different educational institutions showed that the teachers' knowledge of the technological pedagogical field is high. While there are no significant differences between groups in terms of age, graduation and professional experience variables, it has been found that gender, learning status and teaching stage variables cause different dimensions in the knowledge levels of teachers in the technological pedagogical field.
