Konusunu tarihten ve tarihteki önemli şahsiyetlerden alan tarihi roman, bir tarih kitabının tarihi olayları okuyucuya tek düze bir anlatımla sunmasından ziyade, olayların arka plan kültürünü, zaman ve mekânın olaylar ve karakterler üzerindeki etkisini ayrıntılı bir şekilde estetik bir dille sunar. Bu nedenle tarihi romanlar tarih öğrenimi içinde önemli bir araç haline gelir. Son dönem Türk romancılarından olan İskender Pala, romanlarını tarihi olaylar ve şahsiyetler üzerine kurgular. Romanlarında tarihi olayları kronolojik sıralamasına uygun bir kurgu ile veren yazar, karakterlerin olaylar karşısındaki psikolojik durumlarını da yansıtmaya çalışır. Yazarın “Şah ve Sultan”, “Od”, “Efsane: Bir Barbaros Romanı” olmak üzere birok tarihi romanı yayımlanmıştır. Yazarın tarihi romanlarından biri olan “Od” romanı ünlü Türk düşünürü Yunus Emre’nin hayatı üzerine kurgulanır. Romanda Yunus’un yaşadığı devrin sosyal, askeri, siyasi ve ekonomik arka planı aktarılırken, Yunus’un “Bizim Yunus” olma sürecindeki yaşadığı ruhsal çatışmalara da yer verilir. Bu çalışmada İskender Pala’nın “Od” romanı yapı ve izleksel kurgu açısından incelenecek, tarihi kişiliklerin farklı yönlerinin romandaki yansımaları devrin şartları ışığında ele alınacaktır.
The historical novel, which takes its topic from important figures in history and history, instead of a history book presenting the historical events to the reader with a single-level narrative, describes the background culture of events, the impact of time and space on events and characters in an aesthetic language in detail. Therefore, historical novels become an important tool in history learning. Alexander Pala, a Turkish novelist of the last period, figured his novels about historical events and personalities. The writer gives historical events in his novels with a fiction according to the chronological ranking, trying to reflect the psychological conditions of the characters in front of the events. The author’s historic novel “Shah and the Sultan”, “Od”, “Legend: A Barbaros Novel” has been published. The novel "Od", one of the author's historic novels, is based on the life of the famous Turkish thinker Yunus Emre. The novel translates the social, military, political and economic background of the revolution in which Yunus lived, while the spiritual conflicts in which Yunus lived in the process of becoming "Our Yunus" are also included. In this study, Alexander Pala's "Od" novel will be studied in terms of structure and spectacular fiction, the reflections of the different aspects of historical personalities in the novel will be addressed in the light of the conditions of the period.

Many historical novels of the author, Shah and Sultan, Od, Legend: A Barbaros Novel have been published. Od, one of the author’s historical novels, is based on the life of a historical figure Yunus Emre. In the novel, while transferring the social, military, political and economic background of the period that Yunus experienced, the spiritual conflicts that Yunus experienced in the process of being “Bizim Yunus” are also included. In this study, Od novel of İskender Pala will be examined in terms of structure and projective fiction, and the reflections of different aspects of historical personalities in the novel will be discussed in the light of the conditions of the period.
