Abstract:

Abstract This article is part of a more in-depth investigation that addressed the migratory phenomenon in youth and the diagnosis of public policies directed at this population group in a situation of migration, from the municipality of the II Frente Oriental “Frank País García” in the province of Santiago de Cuba, taking into account the results of the Population and Housing Census of 2012. The objectives of this study are: the approach of theoretical-conceptual aspects referring to public policies, internal migration and youth; the exposition of the main sociodemographic characteristics of the II Frente Oriental “Frank País García”; and the presentation of a diagnosis of the management of public policies aimed at youth in migration situations (15-24 years) in that municipality. A qualitative methodology was adopted to carry out the case study and the criteria of specialists; the analysis of the registered information was produced through the triangulation of sources, through workshops and the techniques used. The bibliographic review made it possible to establish the conceptual and theoretical base, allowing for an in-depth analysis of the results.
