Okul öncesi ve Sınıf Öğretmeni Adaylarının Kaynaştırma Eğitimine İlişkin Tutumlarının İncelenmesi: Atatürk Öğretmen Akademisi-KKTC Örneği

Abstract:

Kaynaştırma eğitiminin başarıya ulaşabilmesi için, öğretmenlerin sadece konu alanı bilgisi bilmeleri yeterli değildir. Öğretmenlerin ayrıca özel gereksinimi olan bireye olumlu yaklaşmaları ve onu kabul etmeleri de gerekmektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı okul öncesi ve sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının kaynaştırma eğitimine ilişkin tutumlarının incelenmesidir. Araştırmada açıklayıcı karma yöntem araştırma deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel verileri 99, nitel verileri ise 10 öğretmen adayından toplanmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Kaynaştırma Eğitimine İlişkin Tutum (KEİT) Ölçeği ve açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan bir form kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel verileri bağımsız gruplar t testi kullanılarak, nitel veriler ise betimsel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları doğrultusunda, öğretmen adaylarının KEİT puanları cinsiyet ve aldıkları özel eğitim dersi sayısı değişkenleri açısından anlamlı bir farklılık göstermemiştir ancak, öğretmen adaylarının KEİT puanları okudukları program, özel eğitim dersini alma durumu ve yakın çevresinde özel gereksinimli birey/bireylerin olup olmaması değişkenleri açısından ise anlamlı farklılıklar göstermiştir. Nitel verilerin analiz sonuçlarında ise, öğretmen adayları kaynaştırma eğitiminin en önemli faydasının sosyalleşme olduğunu belirtmişlerdir.

Abstract:

In order to success in coaching education, it is not enough that teachers know only the subject field knowledge. Teachers also need to have a positive approach to the individual with a special need and to accept it. The purpose of this research is to study the attitudes of pre-school and class teacher candidates in relation to coaching education. The research has been used to explain the karma method. The study’s quantial data was 99, and the quantial data was collected from 10 teachers candidates. In the research, data collection tool has been used as a form consisting of the scale of attitude (KEIT) and open-end questions. Quantitative data of the study were analyzed in an independent group using t test, while qualitative data were visually analyzed. According to the research findings, the KEIT scores of the teacher candidates have not shown a significant difference in terms of gender and the number of special training courses they receive; however, the KEIT scores of the teacher candidates have shown a significant difference in terms of the program they read, the state of receipt of the special training courses and whether or not there are special needs in the nearby surroundings. In the results of the quality data analysis, the teacher candidates pointed out that the important benefit of coaching education is socialization.

For the success of inclusive education it is not enough for teachers to know only subject-matter knowledge. Teachers also should have a positive attitude towards students with special needs. The main purpose of this study is to examine the attitudes of the prospective teachers to the inclusive education who are studying in the Atatürk Teacher Training Academy (ATTA). Explanatory mixed method was used in the research. Quantitative data of the study were collected from ninety-nine teacher candidates and the qualitative data were collected form ten teacher candidates. Attitudes Toward Inclusion Education (ATIE) scale and a form consisting of open-ended questions were used as data collection tools. The quantitative data of the research were analyzed using independent groups t test, the qualitative data were analyzed descriptively. According to the results of the research, there were significant differences in the ATIE scores of the prospective teachers in terms of gender and the number of special education courses they received, the condition of receiving special education courses and the variables of being in need of special education need in the close vicinity. In the analysis results of qualitative data, the prosproctive teachers determined that the most important benefit of inclusive education is socialization.
