Abstract:

One of the results revealed by the rapid urbanization process within today’s cities is the ginkgo. In Turkish cities since the 1950s, the rapid urbanization process has been defined as a problem from time to time. The city of Erzurum is one of the cities in which the Gecondu regions are widely seen in our country. The city's first gecondu area, the mountain (Gaziler) neighborhood, is separated from the other gecondu areas of the city with the green fabric that the gardens make up. The mountain neighborhood stands out not only among the other Gecondu regions, but with its green fabric within all urban settlements. Often the attention of a gecondu area defined as unhealthy urban areas with green tissue within the city is the starting point of this study. From here the purpose of the research is to identify the factors that affect the preferences of the plant species and the plant species that the housing owners who live in this area in the area are preferred to grow in their gardens in the example of the Erzurum city Mountain Mahallesi. For this purpose, in the framework of the work, the plant species used in the gecekondu gardens in the Erzurum city of Mountains district have been detailedly studied in the site and surveyed by consulting the housing owners. The study found that housing owners who migrated to the Mountainous Neighborhood and organized their own garden without professional assistance prefer fruit trees and trees more than decorated plants; the majority of the intervievers brought the plants from the places where they migrated and were significantly affected by their neighbors’ gardens in plant selection.
