Abstract:

According to Islamic belief, the Qur'an is a holy book that contains the last divine messages sent to humanity and has influenced many geographies of the world in many respects since its revelation. This influence has been realized in almost all areas of a nation's life, from its music to its architecture, from its literature to its art, from its clothing to its daily life, from the lives of its individuals to its community life, from its customs and traditions to the vocabulary of its languages. Many religious texts were written in verse in Old Turkish literature. There are some reasons why religious subjects were written in verse. These can be listed as the author being a poet or the desire to work in this field, the fact that the original is also in verse in translated works, the existence of the tradition of writing in verse on didactic subjects, the tradition of writing nazire and easy reading-memorization. The common point of almost all of these religious texts is that they were written to educate the public. The mathnawi, which we think was written in the Old Anatolian Turkish period, constitutes the subject of our study. In the work, information about kat' and wasl (maktū and mawsūl) is given and related verses are shared. There is no copyright date in the work, but since the work shows the characteristics of the Old Anatolian Turkish period, the author of the work may be one of the poets living in this period. The author never used his pseudonym in his work. This verse of 33 couplets, written in the form of mathnawi verse to teach the subject, contains many sūrah names and verses due to its subject. The work is written in the form of fāilātün / fāilātün / fāilātün / fāilün and repeated voice/word and rhyme are used in many places in the work. No study has been conducted on this work so far and no information about it has been found in biographical sources.
