Abstract The behavior of the population and development in Latin America in the last century, its population concentrations and uneven urbanization by country and the way in which the demographic transition has unfolded, make Latin America a space of special singularity on the world stage. The way in which economic models break into the territory, since the second half of the last century, have conditioned concentrations in cities on a world scale due to their size, but with all the evils inherent in the world where they operate. The income of globalization adds even more inequalities and segmentations
