Abstract:

Muhallefat, which means the assets left by the people who died in the Ottoman Empire, constitutes one of the main areas of Ottoman heritage law. In this study, the Muhallefat of Revan Guard Ibrahim Pasha, one of the muhallefat applications seen in different ways in the XVIII century, was discussed. His Revan guard (1729-1733), his activities on the eastern border, and his death, as well as the determination of his muhallefat and related issues, were examined primarily by taking advantage of the chronicles of the period alongside the records and documents in the Ottoman Archives. In the second quarter of the 18th century, based on the belongings recorded in the registers, this study tried to determine the value of the assets of a pasha who served as a Revan guard. Information about the social, cultural, and economic situation of the era was given through the items used in daily life, the clothes and books he owned, and the war tools.
