Today, drinking water networks are available in almost every settlement area, and drinking water network management is an inevitable problem. In particular, these networks are in most places managed uncontrollably, depending on the initiative of individuals. This is why energy consumption, water consumption and human power loss are quite high. In the drinking water networks, water warehouses are mainly located at high points, and at low points, water is sent to the warehouses with the pump station. In automatic systems, the engine sends water to the warehouses of the pump station by the operator running the pump. If there is no communication between the warehouse and the pump station, the warehouse is uncontrolled with the time-run pump. Therefore, the water consumption, the power consumption of the pump and the loss of human power that operates and controls the system and the reduction of the mechanical life of the engine are the most important losses. In this study, the drinking water network of Ankara or Kızılcahamam district has been converted into a computer-controlled automation system. There are 7 water deposits and 8 pump stations for drinking water. With the completion of the work, the shipping of water deposits or the deposits remain empty has been prevented. In addition, the number of employees that provide pump defects, electricity consumption and system control has been reduced to a minimum. The system has been actively used since 2011.
