Abstract:

Literary works are one of the decisive cultural structures in the context of the reflection, strengthening and questioning of social gender roles. From this point of view, in the novels that are a literary work, it is very important how the representations of gender roles in society are addressed. The study aimed at studying the characters in Latife Tekin's Loved Untold Death novel, in terms of social gender roles. It was conducted as a quality research method of content analysis. The work tried to reflect the conditions of the period, what roles the family structure imposes on the woman and the man, how social gender roles form pressure on the woman and the man. The problem of the study was the reflection of the fictional place of the female and physical destruction of the social formations that cannot exceed the female perception process in the novel, the mother, the working woman, the sexual distortion, the education of the girl, the marriage, and the questioning under five titles. In the context of social gender, the femininity imposed by society, where the masculine roles are imprisoned in certain modeled rituals, and the behaviors against them are subjected to various sanctions (exclusion, laughing, etc.). The traces of how the woman was objectivized, addicted and passive.
