1877 yılında dünyaya gelen Reşid Bey, Mülkiye Mektebi mezunlarındandır. Osmanlı Devleti’nin son zamanlarında ve Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kuruluş döneminde kaymakam olarak görev yapmış şair bir devlet adamıdır. Birinci Dünya Savaşı ve Kurtuluş Savaşı yıllarında, Türk halkının çekmiş olduğu sıkıntılara ve göstermiş olduğu sayısız kahramanlıklara şahit olmuştur. Çevresi tarafından şair kişiliğiyle tanınan Reşid Bey’in hem divan edebiyatı hem de yeni Türk edebiyatı nazım şekillerini kullanarak yazmış olduğu manzumeleri bulunmaktadır. Edebiyat tarihimizde unutulmuş isimlerden biri olan Reşid Fânî’nin ismi, son dönemde yazılmış biyografik kaynaklarda ve şuara tezkirelerinde geçmemektedir. Çocuk yaşlarından itibaren şiir yazmaya başlamış, yazmış olduğu şiirler bazı gazete ve dergilerde yayımlanmıştır. Bu gazete ve dergilerde “yüksek şair” ya da “Türk şairi” şeklinde nitelendirilir. Şahsi kütüphanemizde, satın alma yoluyla elde ettiğimiz, Reşid Fânî’ye ait üç adet yazma şiir kitabı bulunmaktadır. Şu ana kadar hakkında hiçbir araştırma ve incelemenin yapılmadığı Reşid Fânî’nin kronolojik hayatı, elimizde bulunan şiirlerinde okuyucuya aktardığı notlardan, şiirlerinin satır aralarında geçen ifadelerden, T.C. Cumhurbaşkanlığı Devlet Arşivleri’nde yer alan arşiv belgelerinden ve yaşadığı dönemde yayımlanan gazete haberlerinden yola çıkarak oluşturulmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı, aradan geçen yüz yıla rağmen adı unutulmuş, şiirleri kapak arasında kalmış bir şairin edebiyat dünyasına tanıtılması ve yeniden gün yüzüne çıkarılmasıdır.
Born in 1877, Reshid Fânî is a graduate of the Mülkiye School. He is a poet statesman who served as a district governor in the late Ottoman Empire and the establishment period of the Republic of Türkiye. During the First World War and the War of Independence, he witnessed the hardships suffered by the Turkish people and the countless heroism they showed. Recognized as a poet by his circle, Reshid Bey wrote verses using both divan literature and new Turkish literature verse forms. The name of Reshid Fânî, one of the forgotten names in our literary history, is not mentioned in recent biographical sources and poet's tezkires. He started writing poetry as a child and his poems were published in some newspapers and magazines. In these newspapers and magazines, he was described as "high poet" or "Turkish poet". In our personal library, there are three manuscript poetry books belonging to Reshid Fânî, which we obtained through purchase. The chronological life of Reshid Fânî, about whom no research and analysis has been done so far, has been created based on the notes he conveyed to the reader in his poems, the expressions between the lines of his poems, archival documents in the Rresidency of The Republic of Türkiye Directorate of State Archives and newspaper news published during his lifetime. The aim of this study is to introduce a poet whose name has been forgotten and whose poems have remained between the covers despite the hundred years that have passed, to the world of literature and to bring them to light again.
