Abstract:

Especially in the period from the 1980s to the present day, a serious change and transformation has occurred in global health policies and practices under the influence of the globalization phenomenon. The aim of this study is to describe the influence of international actors such as the WHO, DB and the IMF on global health policies and practices. In the framework of the study, the health policy approach of the DSO to the present has been discussed in a chronological context, as well as a description of the activities of the DB and the IMF towards health policy. The study has achieved numerous conclusions, including that the DSO, DB and IMF have a serious impact on the formation and implementation of health policies and that the thought in the essence of policies has changed over time.

Abstract:

Especially until nowadays from in the 1980s, with the effect of the globalization phenomenon, there has been a significant change and transformation in global health policies and practices. The purpose of this study is to describe the impact of international actors such as World Health Organization, World Bank and International Monetary Fund on global health policies and practices. Within the scope of the study, the approach of the World Health Organization in terms of health politics was taken up in a chronological context. In addition, a description has been made about the activities for health policies of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. The study has shown that these international actors have a significant influence in shaping and implementing health policies. At the same time, various results have been reached, such as the core of policies of these institutions have changed over time.
