Abstract:

In our country in recent period, with the aim of improving the quality of teachers in the MEB and YÖK, educational professional development projects in a new and entrepreneurial way have been launched. Currently, the MEB-related Teacher Education and Development General Directorate is carrying out projects such as "with our Teachers to 2023". In this study, the aim of providing guidance to the professional development processes planned to be carried out in the context of our country is to study the objectives, scope, processes and focus of 134 research articles, in which the projects generally carried out in the field of professional development are published in the international field. Qualitative research approach in the research has been adopted, designed as a basic interpretative research and used the method of document review when data is collected. The SCOPUS search engine scans the SSCI (Social Science Citation Index) in the four leading journals in the field of teaching (Asia-Pacific Journal of Teacher Education, European Journal of Teacher Education, Journal of Teacher Education, Teaching and Teacher Education), which contains the word block "Professional Development" is defined as a research data set. According to the research results, the most important point that professional development should be taken into account in the research and application processes is the comprehension and integrity of the process. There is a need for the structure of professional development processes taking into account their new, comprehensive and contextual characteristics. The professional development process has more than one participant, such as teachers, school managers, teachers, educators, students. It is believed that the enrichment of research groups in our country will increase the benefits of research and implementation processes.
