Küreselleşmenin etkisiyle kadınların ekonomik hayata daha fazla katılmaları beklense de toplumsal inanç ve değerler, toplum tarafından kadına atfedilen annelik ve eşlik rolleri, eğitimde eşitsizlik gibi birtakım engellerle Türkiye’de bu beklenti hiçbir zaman karşılanamamıştır. Bu engellerden en önemlisi cinsiyet ayrımcılığı olarak görülse de bu konuda yapılan ampirik bulguya dayalı çalışma oldukça sınırlıdır. Bu motivasyondan hareketle mevcut çalışma, 2014-2019 döneminde Türkiye’nin 26 bölgesinde (İBBS Düzey-2) erkek işgücünün kadın istihdamı üzerindeki etkisini ölçmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Tahminlerden elde edilen bulgular, erkek işgücündeki artışın kadın istihdamı üzerinde önemli bir dışlama etkisine sahip olduğunu göstermektedir. Ayrıca bulgular dışlama etkisinin kadın eğitim seviyesi arttıkça kademeli olarak azaldığını; yükseköğretim mezunu kadınlarda ise ortadan kalktığını göstermektedir.
Although the influence of globalization is expected that women will be more involved in economic life, social beliefs and values, the role of motherhood and accompaniment attributed to women by society, a number of barriers such as inequality in education have never been met in Turkey. Although the most important of these obstacles is gender discrimination, the study based on the empirical findings on this subject is quite limited. With this motivation, the current study aims to measure the influence of male labor on women’s employment in the period 2014-2019 in the 26 regions of Turkey (IBBS Level-2). The findings from the forecasts show that the increase in male labour has a significant exclusive effect on women’s employment. The findings also show that the effect of exclusion gradually decreases as the level of education of women increases, while higher education graduates disappear in women.
