Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of the obligatory citizenship status of individuals operating in the service sector on the motivation of the employee. Relational scan model was used in the research. The universe of the research is formed by employees in five-star hotel companies in the Mediterranean region. The study’s sample group consists of 21 five-star hotel companies operating in the Mediterranean region. The study used the compulsory scale of citizenship and the scale of employee motivation. Because the data showed normal distribution, parametric tests were applied in the study. The data obtained in the study have been identifiable by statistical analyses, t-test and ANOVA statistical analyses. The service staff indicate that their obligatory citizenship levels are high and their motivation is down. There is no meaningful relationship between the gender of the service workers and the obligatory nationality levels and the dimensions in the scale of the motivation of the employee. There is no meaningful relationship between the professional status of the service employees and the items in the scale of mandatory citizenship. There is a meaningful relationship between the employee’s professional advances and the size of success. Service workers believe that their motivation will be reduced if the obligatory nationality levels increase.
