The concept of design has changed over time; in the design fields such as art, architectural structures and tourism conception, we have seen reflections of this situation. The universal structure of the design and its connection to the past develops depending on the authentic structures of the cities, the architectural elements, the characteristic characteristics of nature and the expectations and desires of individuals. Especially in the 21st century, it is known that humans are inspired by nature, authentic and folkloric life, and the influence of the settled culture is also antiquated. In this study, the authentic concept that does not forget the nature / increases awareness, reminds the essence of its culture, offers different experiences, flavours, architectural structures, plant designs to the cities - countries, is addressed in the example of the Erzurum. The study emphasized the importance of authentic identity from the city’s point of view and focused on the idea that each city should bring its own authentic identity to the forefront with cultural landscape elements. Considering that one-level architectural concepts create cities which are a copy of each other and that this cannot form a tissue that can be called the city’s spirit, the role of the concept of cultural landscape in the original city formation is considered inevitable. The importance of cultural landscape is to be revealed by this work. Erzurum is a city of great historical importance, has been occupied, has passed under the rule of many states and peoples. It has a rich history in which the foundations of national struggle and independence are put on. This city, where the cultural touch is alive, is also attracted by its folkloric characteristics. In this study, the authentic identity was assessed in the Erzurum city particular; the architectural structures, folkloric life and gastronomy were studied.

Especially in the 21st century, it is known that people are inspired by nature, authentic and folkloric life, and with the influence of the established culture. In this study, the concept of authentic, which does not make people forget / raise awareness, reminds its essence and culture, and gives identity to cities-countries that offer different experiences, flavors, architectural structures, and herbal designs, is discussed in the example of Erzurum province. In the study, the importance of authentic identity in terms of the city was emphasized and the idea of making each city stand out with its cultural landscape elements was emphasized. Considering that monotonous architectural insights create cities that are duplicates of each other and that this cannot form a texture that can be called the spirit of the city, the role of cultural landscape in the original city formation is inevitable. The importance of cultural landscape is aimed to be revealed with this study. Erzurum is a city of great historical importance, it was occupied and passed under the rule of many states and tribes. It has a rich history in which the foundations of national struggle and independence were laid. This city, where the cultural texture is alive, draws attention with its folkloric features. In this study, authentic identity was evaluated specifically for Erzurum city; architectural structures have been studied in terms of folkloric life and gastronomy.
