Bulgular: Yüzde yetmiş biri kamu, %28.8’i üniversite ve özel hastanede çalışan hemşirelere yönelik yapılan eğitimde hemşireler ön testten 46.35±10.68, son testten 71.14±14.21 ortalama puan almışlardır.
Purpose: The research was conducted to provide nurses training on medical errors and patient safety and to evaluate the effectiveness of the training. Method: The training was carried out in the form of two days 12 hours for 184 nurses who work in 12 public, a university and a private hospital and are allowed to participate in the training. Pre-test and final test were used to evaluate the effectiveness of training. Results: Seventeen percent of public, 28.8 percent of university and private hospitals nurses in training received an average score of 46.35±10.68 from the previous test, 71.14±14.21 from the last test. In addition, as a result of the training performed, when compared the first test and final test points of the nurses, all nurses (z= -11.48; p= 0. 000), the final test scores of nurses in the university hospital + private hospital (z= -6.185; p= 0.000) and in the public hospital (z= -9.695; p= 0.000) are higher than the previous test scores and these findings are statistically meaningful. Results: The training for nurses to prevent and reduce medical errors has been found to be effective in nurses in both public hospitals and university and private hospitals, and the nurses’ level of knowledge has been significantly increased.
