Abstract:

Title: The assessment of the health and safety of nurses from the patient to the nurses Summary: Purpose: This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating nurses’ work environments from the patient and nurses’ safety. The universe of research has been formed by 393 nurses working and voluntarily participating in the research at the Bozyaka Education and Research Hospital, the Southern Secretariat of the Izmir Public Hospitals Institution. The research data, socio-demographic characteristics, prepared for the safety of patients and nurses were used as well as the "Information Form" and the "Working Environment Scale". In the analysis of the data, the frequency, percentage and average, independent variables and scale subdimensional medias have been applied one-way variance analysis. Results and Results: The average age of the nurses involved was 35,76±7,10, 50,4 percent in the age group of 30-39, 57,8 percent graduate and 79,1 percent servicing nurses. It is estimated that 66.2% of the major incidents that threaten the safety of the patient were "patient falls". The work environment measurement score average was 3,51±1,0 (Min:2,94, Max:3,97) Nurses in the age group of 30-39 found that the "work satisfaction" low-dimensional score average and the "professional relationships" low-dimensional score average were significantly higher for those working in the surgical units. by p<0, 05 .
