Abstract:

This research report has four purposes: first, to present scientific knowledge as a source of strategic opportunities for economic growth. Second, to analyze the institutionalization and governance of this paradigm in Mexico by locating the key national and international actors involved in the creation of innovations in Mexico. We will then estimate, through a comparative case study, the impact on Mexico’s regional and local development of current innovation policy. Lastly, we aim to present the impact on Mexico’s regional and local development of technology parks involving the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education.
