Erken dönemde telif edilen ve mürsel rivayetleri muhtevi önemli bir eser olan İmâm Mâlik’in (ö. 179/795) Muvatta’ı, gerek Müslüman gerekse gayrimüslim araştırmacılar tarafından pekçok yönüyle çeşitli çalışmalara konu edilmiştir. Aynı şekilde İmâm Buhârî’nin (ö. 256/870) Sahîh’i de hicrî III. yüzyıldaki telifâtın zirvesi kabul edilip geçmişte ve günümüzde pek çok cihetten incelenip tetkik edilmiştir. Muvatta’ ve Sahîh-i Buhârî arasındaki ilişki bazen müstakil eserlerde bazen belli başlıklar altında ele alınarak her iki kitabın müşterek yönleri, ravileri, rivayetler arasındaki benzerlikleri, farklılıkları, müelliflerinin ortak özellikleri-yöntemleri inceleme konusu olmuştur. İsnâdın sorulmaya başlandığı dönem ve bu dönemi müteakip sistematik şekilde kullanımı ile hadis tarihinin ilk asırlarına ait çalışmalarda hadis rivâyetinin genel karakteristiği, hem isnâdlı nakil hem de ilgili döneme ait kitapların yapısı hakkında önemli bilgiler sunmaya elverişli konulardır. Bu sebeple şifâhî ve yazılı rivâyet meselesi ile ilişkili olmak üzere isnâdın başlangıcı ve teşekkülü araştırıldığında başta oryantalist literatür olmak üzere modern dönemde kaleme alınan pek çok çalışmada Muvatta’ ve Kütüb-i sitte’de yer alan rivayetlerin isnadları itibariyle mukayese edildiği görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda özellikle erken dönem eserlerinde yer alan rivayetler, belli özellikleri itibariyle başta Buhârî’nin Sahîh’i olmak üzere temel hadis kitaplarıyla mukayese edilmek suretiyle hadis rivayet tarihi hakkında çeşitli değerlendirmeler yapılmaktadır. Bu makale “bir hadisin irsâl edilmek suretiyle rivayet edilmesi ve aynı hadisin mevsûl tarikle nakledilmesi” konusuna yoğunlaşarak her iki eseri irsâl-ittisâl açısından mukayese etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Söz konusu amaç, irsâl-ittisâl meselesini ortaya koymak üzere Muvatta’ ve Sahîh-i Buhârî’den seçilen iki rivayetin isnad-metin analizi yapılmak suretiyle gerçekleştirilecektir.

The objective of this is to be achieved by the analysis of the two rivayets chosen from Muvatta and Sahîh-i Buhârî to reveal the issue of irsâl-ittisâl.
