Abstract:

This study aims to develop a measurement tool that can measure the attitudes of university students towards digital gaming in a valid and reliable way. The study included 366 university students who studied at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of Gazi University in 2018-2019. In research, the karma model that contains the qualitative and quantitative research model has been used. In the qualification stage of the study, the processes related to the creation of the material pool by taking the opinions of the university students about digital gaming, and in the quantitative stage the validity and reliability analyses made in the Lisrel 8.8 and SPSS 23 package program. The Opening Factor Analysis (AFA) resulted in a three-dimensional structure consisting of 18 substances. The scale consists of the subdimensions of the Knowledge (5 items), the Emotional (5 items) and the Behavioral (8 items). Following the Opening Factor Analysis, the Verification Factor Analysis (DFA) was conducted and evidence was provided that the structure of the scale obtained according to the DFA’s conformity indicators were in acceptable intervals. Subsequently, material and reliability analysis of the scale was made. In this context, the total variance ratio described by the scale is 65.11% and the Cronbach Alpa value is 82. As a result; the Digital Game Attitude Measurement has been established as a measuring tool that can validly and reliably measure the digital game attitude of participants.
